Affordable Housing
Skytop Properties manages quality, income-eligible affordable apartments in Pittsfield through HUD project-based rental assistance — helping residents live well in well-maintained homes near downtown. Equal Housing Opportunity.
Affordable housing makes quality homes attainable for households across Pittsfield and Berkshire County. Skytop Properties partners on HUD-assisted, professionally managed communities so that income-eligible residents can live in clean, well-kept apartments close to jobs, healthcare, shops, and transit — at a rent tied to what they can afford.
Many of our affordable apartments are subsidized through HUD's Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) and Project-Based Voucher (PBV) programs. The subsidy is attached to the apartment itself, so eligible households generally pay about 30% of their adjusted monthly income toward rent, with HUD covering the remaining contract rent. Because the assistance stays with the unit, residents don't need to bring their own voucher.

Affordable apartments are filled from a waitlist in accordance with HUD requirements, including any applicable preferences. Even when no unit is open today, it's worth applying early so you're on the list when one becomes available. To apply, choose a home on our subsidized apartments page and complete the secure online application packet; every adult in the household completes the required HUD consents, and the finished packet is sent directly to our office.
